Game Summary: Distributing Rewards in a 43-20 Victory

Game Review: An Early Halloween Treat for Cowboys Fans

The Dallas Cowboys treated their fans to an early Halloween celebration, turning AT&T Stadium into a spooky nightmare for the visiting Los Angeles Rams.

In a resounding 43-20 victory, all three phases of the game played a crucial role in the Cowboys' success. They extended their impressive home winning streak to 11 games, the longest in the NFL at the time. Dak Prescott led the charge with a stellar performance, completing 80.6% of his passes for 304 yards and four touchdowns, resulting in a remarkable 133.7 quarterback rating. This marked his eighth career game with at least four touchdown passes, the first since the 2021 season.

CeeDee Lamb was the primary beneficiary of Prescott's masterful display, hauling in 12 catches for 158 yards, setting personal bests in both categories, and securing two touchdown receptions. The running game also found success, with Tony Pollard averaging 4.4 yards per carry for 53 yards, contributing to the team's total of 102 rushing yards.

The Cowboys' defense was equally impressive, causing nightmares for Rams' quarterback Matthew Stafford. Stafford struggled, completing only 59.1% of his pass attempts for 162 yards, earning a modest 78.2 passer rating. The defense registered two sacks, forced five quarterback hits, recorded six tackles for loss, one interception, and managed five pass breakups.

In addition to their dominant performance, the Cowboys controlled the time of possession (35:28 to 24:32) and amassed more total yards (387 to 280), securing a comfortable victory.

First Quarter:

Despite a challenging start for Prescott, who was sacked on his first three drop-backs, the Cowboys managed to recover and score early. Prescott completed six of his next seven passes, including an 18-yard touchdown connection with tight end Jake Ferguson.

The Rams responded with a field goal after a successful drive that was halted by the Cowboys' defense at the 15-yard line. The Cowboys quickly struck back with a 58-yard field goal from rookie Brandon Aubrey, showcasing his impressive range.

Before the end of the first quarter, the Cowboys extended their lead to 17-3 as cornerback DaRon Bland intercepted Stafford and returned it 30 yards for a touchdown.

Second Quarter:

Special teams joined the party as Sam Williams blocked a Rams punt, resulting in a safety when the ball bounced out of the end zone. KaVontae Turpin then returned a punt 63 yards to the Rams' 13-yard line. Two plays later, Prescott connected with Lamb for a 26-3 lead.

The Cowboys' momentum was briefly interrupted when Prescott's pass was intercepted in the red zone, but they quickly recovered. Prescott rolled out and found Lamb in the end zone, extending their lead.

The Rams managed to score a touchdown before halftime, but their two-point conversion attempt failed, leaving the Cowboys with a 33-10 advantage at the break.

Third Quarter:

The Rams started the second half with a touchdown, with Stafford connecting with Ben Skowronek for a 20-yard score. The Cowboys responded with a 27-yard field goal from Aubrey, emphasizing ball control and clock management.

Fourth Quarter:

With Brett Rypien replacing the injured Stafford, the Cowboys' defense held the Rams on fourth-and-2, giving the offense excellent field position. Prescott threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Brandin Cooks, putting the game out of reach.

As the game wound down, Cooper Rush took over at quarterback for the Cowboys, allowing Prescott and other starters to rest. Both teams traded punts, and the Rams added a late 47-yard field goal, concluding the game.

In the end, the Cowboys handed their fans an early Halloween treat, showcasing a complete team effort in their 43-20 victory over the Los Angeles Rams.
