Clovis, California (KFSN) - Today marks the 22nd anniversary of the tragic events that unfolded in New York, Pennsylvania, and the Pentagon, resulting in the loss of nearly 3,000 lives and leaving thousands more wounded.
Throughout the nation, various ceremonies are scheduled to honor the memory of the most devastating terrorist attack ever to occur on American soil.
Here in the Central Valley, one of the largest 9/11 memorial ceremonies is set to occur. Volunteers have been diligently preparing at the California 9/11 memorial in Clovis since the beginning of this month. Their efforts have included the arrangement of flags and the practice of the forthcoming Monday morning ceremony, which will take place at the intersection of Never Forget Lane and Pontiac Way.
Among these dedicated volunteers are law enforcement personnel and military veterans, individuals who vividly recall one of the darkest days in recent U.S. history.
For those unable to attend in person, Action News will livestream the ceremony online. Don't forget to stay tuned through our 24/7 news stream or download the ABC30 app to receive notifications when the livestream begins.
